Fort Lauderdale Residence

This project focuses on the transformation of an existing residence located in Fort Lauderdale into a contemporary living environment through a comprehensive renovation process. The main design approach was to preserve the inherent potential of the structure while redefining it with a more refined, functional, and timeless architectural language.
The original layout was reorganized according to the users’ needs, resulting in a fluid spatial composition that enhances continuity between living areas. Wet and technical spaces were consolidated into a more compact zone, allowing the main living spaces to expand and breathe. Private areas were relocated to the upper floor, creating a clear distinction between public and private zones.
A minimalist, elegant, and restrained design language was adopted throughout the project. Interior spaces are defined by low-saturation warm tones, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere, while cooler-toned natural stone surfaces used in the exterior establish a balanced contrast and strengthen the building’s relationship with its surroundings. The use of block natural stone on the façade gives the structure a strong and distinctive identity.
The dining area, conceived as the heart of the house, is positioned facing the water canals, enhancing the spatial experience. This central space is supported by a generous, high-ceiling entrance hall that creates a striking first impression. The minimalist approach continues in the kitchen and bathroom designs, where clarity and functionality are emphasized through refined detailing.
Outdoor spaces play a key role in the overall design. The addition of a swimming pool, sunbathing areas, and deck surfaces designed for yacht access offers a rich and dynamic outdoor lifestyle. Semi-open covered seating areas and a fire pit provide ideal settings for social gatherings, while outdoor bar areas activate the space throughout different times of the day.
Furniture selections in soft pastel tones complement the overall palette, reinforcing the warm and balanced atmosphere of the interiors. Additionally, a dedicated cinema room stands out as a key feature that enhances the overall user experience.
Ultimately, the project represents a thoughtful reinterpretation of an existing structure, transforming it into a contemporary, balanced, and user-oriented living environment through a refined yet powerful architectural approach.
